Dita Von Teese hails from West Branch Michigan. (I'd have guessed Paris or something exciting like that!:) She says that at a very early age she was intrigued by the styles of the 30's and the 40's..and old Marilyn Monroe movies. Her mom used to give her vintage clothes to play dress up with, which certainly got her started.
At 13, when her girlfriends started buying pantyhose, she just HAD to have stockings and garters...couldn't even think of wearing regular pantyhose. She also says she used to look at her father's Playboys and admired all the pretty girls in their pretty lingerie and couldn't wait till she was old enough to start wearing all of that.
